Geographical and Historical overview

The Phoenicians are considered the first to embark on the dangers of sailing from the shores of SYRIA to the world, on board the wooden ships that they made 3,500 years ago, bringing with them their first alphabet, their sciences, and their handicraft industries,

. so The profession of boat and ship building is considered a historical Phoenician industry, which was handed down by several Syrian families as a valuable legacy that must be preserved it spread in the form of workshops in public squares, alleys, and near the beaches  The building of large sailboats that transport goods abroad also prevailed, and the building of large yachts that are comparable to foreign industries, in terms of cheap prices and mastery of building, and is a source of pride for Syrian people through ages until today.

Syria is located in the center of the world and is the link between the continents of Asia, Africa and Europe
It is located in the southwestern part of the continent of Asia. It overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. The coastline is 193 km long. The total border is 2253 km.

It is distributed between Turkey in the north, Iraq in the east and south, and Jordan in the south. The Mediterranean Sea borders Syria with Lebanon and Palestine; Between latitudes 32-37.5 north of the equator, and longitudes 35.5-42 east of Greenwich, with an area of 185,000 km2.
