Mare Marine Classification Society
hereinafter referred to as “MCS” was incorporated in 2022 With a license from the General Directorate of Ports No. 430 as a private corporation registered in Latakia Syria which holds the ISO Certificate NO:9001/2015, for: non-profit making statutory service and certifications; faithful and accurate classification of mercantile vessels, design approval, survey and issuing reports on mercantile and non-mercantile vessels, hovercrafts, hydrofoils etc.
Structure

Board Of Directors
The affairs of MCS are managed under the supervision and control of the Board of Directors in accordance with the provisions of its Memorandum of Association and Articles of Association.
Technical committee
The Board of Directors shall appoint a technical committee whose function is to consider the following:
• Significant technical issues related to inspections and certification of operating vessels and new vessels in service, development of checklists and procedures.
• Drafting the technical rules for classification lists and the construction of ships, their machinery and equipment.
• Review the rules periodically as may be required from time to time.
MCS comply with international conventions and laws as applicable, is a prerequisite for classification, such as the following:
– International Convention for the Protection of Life at Sea (SOLAS).
– International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (MARPOL).
– International Load Line Convention (ILLC).
– International Convention on Tonnage Measurement of Ships.
– International Collision Prevention Regulations (COLREGS).
– The international code for building and equipping ships carrying bulk liquefied gases.
– International Code for the Construction and Equipment of Ships Carrying Hazardous Chemicals in Bulk.
– Maritime Labor Convention (MLC).
– Relevant international codes and resolution of the IMO Assembly, Maritime Safety Committee (MSC) and Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC) of the IMO.
