Under the auspices of the presidency of Tishreen University and with the participation of MMCS, a symposium on renewable energies was held under the title:

 The role of renewable energies in supporting the energy system in the reconstruction phase of Syria.

Renewable technologies are considered as clean sources of energy and optimal use of these resources minimize environmental impacts, produce minimum secondary wastes and are sustainable based on current and future economic and social needs..

Renewable energy technologies provide an excellent opportunity for mitigation of greenhouse gas emission and reducing global warming through substituting conventional energy sources.

The symposium was held in the conference hall at Tishreen University. This event was accompanied by lectures given by professors and engineers about renewable energies and the dimensions of their use between the pros and cons, in addition to an exhibition of renewable energies equipment in the lobby of the central library.
